Terrific stuff. This is Jay's 1st semi final at this level and as was noted previously, the 6 points will take him very close to the Top 1000.

Whilst it would be fair to say that the draw has been kind to Jay this week, you can only play what is in front of you and Jay has done that in fine style. Fantastic that he has taken the opporuntity when it was presented to him.

Now Jay has a chance of a rematch against Kopriva who beat him in 3 sets last week. Kopriva went on to make the final last week where he lost to Pospisil, whom he has just beaten in a rematch of his own in the QF.

Good luck in the SF Jay. A reversal of last week's result is certainly not out of the question.

Underway in the semi final.
Jay was broken in the opening game, but won the next two games. Back on serve.

Jay has won more points and had more break points, but finds himself a set down. Funny old game.

SF: (6) Vit Kopriva (CZE) WR 686 (= CH) beat Jay Clarke WR 1313 7-6(4) 6-3

So not to be for Jay, but still an excellent week and a very competitive performance again in his first SF.

He's done a great job this trip, firstly, just to get himself properly out of the quali draws which must be one of the most important basic things to get ticked off. Makes life a lot easier going forward.

And, secondly, to show that he's going in the right direction and will be inside the top 1000 shortly, moving up, playing well etc. etc.

Well done.
