Davis Cup 2017 World Group R1 - Canada v Great Britain - 3-5 February

If Andy doesn't play so that it is Kyle & Dan, for however much it matters it seems that Dan would play as #1 since he will be GB #2 after Andy in this coming Monday's rankings.

Think we basically established that team rankings are based on the last rankings before the tie when discussing Del Potro's role for Argentina. "... most recent world computer singles ranking ..."

Does Andy really need a rest? He has played Dubai, had a week off and then a shorter than normal Aussie Open. Prior to that a long break.

I think Leon is playing games. I think he is hoping Raonic goes deep and then drops out of DC and then we should cruise through with Kyle and Dan

If Raonic does play, then add Andy to the squad and take out Dom. Play Kyle and Dan on the Friday and bring in Andy to play doubles and a tired Raonic on the Sunday.

If the teams stay the same, Raonic will win two rubbers and it will be down to the doubles and Nestor is no mug.

Canada have Pospisil as well of course for doubles. Pretty formidable if Nestor and Pospisil play and gel together.

Kidnapped, LOL

Actually, both adductor and abductor are muscle names. But Raonic has said it was the former

I see that Polansky pulled out of Dallas challenger entry list today. You could speculate that's because he is replacing Raonic?

Just saw this on twitter
Eleanor Crooks @EleanorcrooksPA

Milos Raonic has pulled out of Canada's Davis Cup tie against GB and is replaced by Peter Polansky. Definitely advantage GB now

Great news!! Read Raonic's statement, several weeks rest needed for him.

Now Andy can take that much needed rest without any thought of missing out or letting GB down, I'm sure Leon will say this to him before Andy has chance to say anything, being the great diplomat. Evo and Kedders should both be aiming to win day1 rubbers and I think they will both be looking forward to leading team GB out there. With an ever improving Cam as backup and a solid option if needed, very much looking forward to observing how GB perform without our no.1 in this tie.

Seems it's an easy mistake to make.

Daily Mail -

Peter Polansky, Canada's No 2, will replace Raonic for the first-round match in Ottawa next week.

Raonic suffered an injury to his abductor muscle during Wednesday's straight-sets loss to Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

So no kidnappings by Raonic for a while yet.

So Cam Norrie would defo declare for GB in Davis Cup?

Cam has pledged to play for GB, if that's the right term. I seem to remember he met GB officials or LTA and I imagine some funding was agreed towards development but I'm no expert and others will no doubt validate.

You Ab(duct) I move your leg away from the midline before you Ad(duct) bring the leg back from a lateral position.

Obviously Canada prepared to go to great lengths to win with the kidnapping threat very good deserves a
