I don't know I think Kyle probably would recount a certain DC tie on heavy wet Serbian clay as one of the highlights of his career so far. We are definitely still in this and although not relevant to this tie Kyle's skill set does make us much less vulnerable on clay away, Evo would be your no 2. on fast indoor courts if Andy is available
Fabulous win for GB in the doubles by 7-6(1) 6-7(3) 7-6(3) 6-3 to take a 2-1 lead in the tie. Dom the dominant player for once! Hardly dared hope that that would be the outcome.... With any luck, Pospisil will be thoroughly deflated at the start of play in the reverse singles tomorrow.
We're going to need Andy for France. Can't help but start thinking about the next tie now. Great performance from Dom, happy for him, and looking forward to another Evo display tomorrow.
Dom is playing well, Jamie not at his usual level for me though.
So true.
I don't mean this unkindly vis a vis Jamie Murray, but I'm actually quite glad. Dom Inglot has been so often unused that it must be really lovely for him to be the stronger presence in an important match. Anyway, well done to them both. A very useful win.
Excellent performance from Dom today, although relatively untested through lack of opportunity in the DC it is brilliant for him to walk the walk as it is for Evo, the team has real depth.
Dom finished the doubles game as the best player today, he was magic. Jamie, not his best game but he played his part, although he just couldn't get his lob sorted today, must of counted 6/7 failed attempts but hey the speed of the surface made everything difficult didn't it.
The French have a difficult choice in surface but I'm guessing they'll pick clay...
