A couple of very interesting match ups in rnd 2

Lauryn v Beth
Eden v Emily App
Megan v Olivia

could be very tight matches

Emma should have the beating of Alicia and I cannot see any of the other GB girls upsetting the odds again.

Apart from Lauryn/Beth, the girls are doing their level best to thwart you

Olivia/Megan was very one-sided.

And Alicia has just put out Emma 6-3 6-0

But if you've managed to pique one of the youngsters into getting through the third set and pulling off a huge upset, you'll be a hero !!!!

Hannah currently 4-2 up (hold your breath....)

And Gemma 2-2....

Victoria Allen has started well - leads 3-0

I suspect Olivia, Lauryn and Alicia will all get wildcards for next week if they want them

Hannah got broken back for 4-4

And then had two more break points but couldn't get them.....

Emily App served for the set at 5-2 but now 5-4

Vicki Allen (who's been talked about a fair bit on the junior threads) is now leading 4-0 (!)

And Gemma 4-3

How does young Gemma (born 2001) feel now, serving for the match against the WR 558 (CH 295) player????

From 5-2 in games, Emily App lost 4, got it to a tie-break, was up but ended up losing the tie-break 7-6(5)

Hannah was *4-5 down, and served to hold on for 5-5

Had a couple of break points at 5-5 but Huber held on to lead 6-5

Hannah serving again, to force a toe-break.

And young Vicki Allen took the first set 6-1 .....

But she'll play on, even with a whole set of broken toes, it's how they breed them up in Scotland

Except Hannah is based in Stockport....

Fantastic win for Gemma - don't forget Liebens has won 5 x 10K's and is a very good player

But plays under the Scottish flag? Maybe genetic then.....

(Or maybe I'll have to broaden it to 'up north' which could encompass Stockport as well as Scotland - in a true southerner's 'it's north of Watford' sort of way.....)

But great, great effort, Hannah.

Lauryn may well have good reason to thank Hannah tomorrow - Huber must feel some effects from such a close match. And she has her doubles to come too.

Victoria Allen (2001), playing her first ever ITF adult competition has jst beaten the 6th seed, 6-1 6-3

She only got her first every ITF junior point on 27 June this year !!!!

And she'll now play Gemma, so we'll have a 15 year-old in the semis
