I agree about Mollie - ability is there, needs to get that consistency and mindset
Lauryn - definitely going places, very solid all round game
Hannah McColgan - big swinging lefty serve will cause all sorts of problems - definitely one for the future and has rather under performed as a junior
Emily App has come on leaps and bounds and being a top junior, should be capable of breaking into the top 450 fairly easily
Megan Davies is a lovely little player - very talented with her ground strokes(especially her angles). Probably just needs to add a little bit of power to move up to the next level
Gemma - I've only seen once and she had a bad day, but very big and powerful for her age
There are a few other lesser known juniors not there this week, who wouldn't be out of place in this sort of competition. Ema Lazic, Eden Richardson, Nell Miller, Jodie Burrage, Ali Collins and a few more not too far behind (Esther Adeshina, Olivia Elliot, Emma Raducanu, Holly Fischer etc etc)
PS Emma Hurst is under ranked, mainly as she only plays on tour part time (similarly to Maia)
Lauryn and Megan are the two that are definitely going off to college, aren't they?
Emily App's coach said she hadn't made up her mind when someone asked him - playing his cards close to his chest, I think. Dad's input may be critical.....
Fran Jones is the big name that you left out (just an oversight, I'm sure). I'll be interested to see Serena Nash's progress in the States too, and Elise van H.
Would like to see our Scottish champion, Hannah McC play - I'm hoping to get to Roehampton next week - but might have to try and make it for the Qs because, as you say, the standard is a lot higher.
(NB I was lucky enough to catch Gemma on a good day - as you say, it does colour your view, you can't help it, even though you know that one swallow and all that....)
The 2001s with at least one ranking point ( although of course not yet a ranking ) have tripled with Gemma Heath and Victoria Allen joining Aleksandra Pitak. Gemma (dob 12/08/01) becomes the youngest.

very nice to see Gemma have early success in a senior tournament, particularly with the more powerful juniors it is good to see an early transition where it is more difficult to over power an opponent.

I know Olivia has played a lot of doubles (mainly with Beth) and pretty successfully. But does anyone know much about her? Is she a student? She barely seems to have been outside the UK to play - what is she doing with her tennis at the moment?
In paulisi's 'answering your own question' mode, I see from her twitter that Olivia is a Sports Science with Management Student at Loughborough University (similar situation to Emma Hurst, then, presumably).....
I thought they were evenly matched and I stated that last night, but I'm fairly confident that Lauryn could go and push on if she wanted and if the right finances were in place.

I think she's very excited about going to college - it's not a finance thing (I don't mean that finances ARE in place, but that she's looking forward to college and college life and college tennis)
