Hannah McColgan just took an epic first set.

An hour and 12 minutes for 10 games...

Well done Olivia - good scalp and will probably deserve a wildcard for next week.

There's an MTO in the match between the 14 and 15 year-olds.

Morlet certainly had a far harder time coming through qualis, so it might be for her.

But she was about to serve for the set at *5-4.

No way of knowing really.....

Don't know the effect of the MTO but Morlet got broken serving for the set. Now a tie-break....

And another pesky bites the dust

Hannah McCOlgan, the Scottish U18 and U16 National Champion this year, defeats the Spanish ranked player

Young Victoria Allen looks well on course to do the same to the even younger French Miss.

And Lauryn JB defeated Anna Popescu 6-1 6-0

Four guaranteed British Quarter Finalists already, I think. Five if Crouch can beat Vogelsgang.

and another 'tiddler', Gemma Heath also gets a win

7-5 in the third.

Although shame for Lucy.....

That is a really good win for Gemma as Lucy is one of the better players in the draw, even if her ranking doesn't reflect this.

The future looks really good for the juniors and "might" tempt the LTA to put on a few more 10K's if they keep picking up points. I think the acid test will be next week in a stronger tournament.
Tough call on wildcards for next week now.

A couple of very interesting match ups in rnd 2

Lauryn v Beth
Eden v Emily App
Megan v Olivia

could be very tight matches

Emma should have the beating of Alicia and I cannot see any of the other GB girls upsetting the odds again.

Mollie went down, 4-6 5-7

But that's a very good score against a player ranked about 750

Mollie's one of those players like someone said about Eden Silva a year or so back - you forget they're so young because their name has been about for so long.

She's only a year out of juniors and has a game that she's growing into (i.e. technically a bit suspect in places, but based on power and height which often is not very productive in youngsters' tennis but comes into its own a little later).

Good luck to her.
