... and the second set barely last longer than the first set tiebreak. 6-0.

Well done Mr. Pauffley.

Very well done Neil. Twitter comments indicated that he was having problems with a sore calf muscle, so I was a bit worried by this one. And as someone noted Mr Patael has done well against the Brits in the past. Neil's guaranteed 6 points will be offset by 8 points that he has coming off, so he needs one more win to get into positive territory. He is playing well enough to do that so, let's go Neil.

Super chuffed for Neil, Israel seems to be treating him well, long may that continue.

Neil and Alexis lost their doubles but that's points for Alexis and Neil can concentrate on his singles so it's all good...

Semifinal

Nathaniel LAMMONS (USA) / Dane WEBB (USA) [4] 6-2 6-1 Alexis CANTER (GBR) / Neil PAUFFLEY (GBR)

Neil was 5-3 up in the 1st set, serving for it at 5-4, but ended up in a tiebreak. He won that 7-0 though and is now *4-0 up in the 2nd set

Great win for Neil. Good to see him back in a final again. Needs to get back into that Top 500 as we are looking a bit "threadbare" in that regard at the moment.

Just to note, according to his coach Matt Smith, who was following on Live scores, from the 1st set TB into the 2nd set, Neil put together a run of 16 consecutive points. Now that's impressive.

Great result for Mr Pauffley. Well done.

And Steven, your hashtag pun was appallingly good.
