A bridge too far in the end for Joel but he has made giant strides this week and that will stand him in good stead for the the future. The top seed has clearly been on fire all week as Steven's post suggests so no disgrace whatsoever in the defeat today.
I hope that Joel can now back this up over the next two weeks with some more good performances. At least he has benefitted from an SE for next week. I always fear that after a successful week, there is a danger of an "after the Lord Mayor's show" performance arround the corner for players who haven't been in this position before. It will be interesting to see how Joel copes with this. A decent draw would be helpful and avoiding Mr Kelly's half of the draw again would be even better.
But whatever happens, this has been a terrific week for Joel. Well played that man.
