Having seen Vrljic a while back, the impression I got was that she was approaching the end of her career and on a downward trend. Therefore not really surprised that Katie, who seems be back on form, took her out. I think there will be harder challenges for Katie this week.

Bektas had a pretty decent college career www.mgoblue.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/emina_bektas_761522.html
She's also from deep in the the heart of Texas tennis country, which may help with conditions (though her college was in decidedly different Michigan).

Hanging in there, and seems to be working hard, having dragged her first serve % from ~32% up ~45%
Improvement needs to continue, as it's a very close second set 3-6 *4-4

Harriet three times got to deuce in game 12, but couldn't fashion a set point, so a TB it is. 3-6 6-6
