Still not sure how I got hooked on this match so late. Ah, I remember, saw it restart and thought it might be over in 10 minutes (rookie tennis fan error!)
Now *5-4 ... *6-4 2 match points they won't both be on serve

Handy as expected - the match point on Katie's serve was saved
... but she mini-breaks for the match, a df from her opponent always the most likely way one was going to get converted - but seriously she won 6 of the last 7 points from 1-4 down in the tiebreak, and it's bye bye top seed!

Lost the point at *6-5, but having got herself to a receiving point to win, took it. Yay !!!
Edit: Ah, hadn't realised that it was a DF, on bet365 I just saw the old '"fault" and then point and match to Katie. While a winning shot after all that would have been nice ultimately winning that final point without having to hit a shot at all will for now do fine, just fine.

Great wins there for the two Katies :D :D
Pity about Lisa but at least we don't need to sit on the fence in R2 now. Looking forward to Katie v Freya in the QFs though ;)
And Indy and Steven, if you are (a) in a European time zone, and (b) do not have a new-born baby, then you both deserve 'tennis nutters of the month' awards !!!
I do worry about Katie and her injuries but there's no doubt that when fit and free from all these frustrating injuries that Katie will be a top player, well done and onto the next one.
Is tennis nutter of the month a real award, do you get a medal or something tangible you can hold. If so might consider having a crack, going more for the quality of deed (Bob to Umag type gesture) as opposed to sheer volume of posts.
