Nice to see Jazzy Plews name again. I remember she made top 100 at barely 15 and seemed like a big prospect before she suddenly stopped playing (and hasn't since 2013). Perhaps injury stalled her, either way great to see her healthy and off to college.
Jazzy trained in Spain for a while and then required wrist surgery. Once recuperated she moved to an academy in Germany. She may well have been playing German domestic competition since then rather than ITFs. Not sure how to check the German system. Anyway, I agree, nice to see she is fit and up for a top college place.
Top bloke, it's scenes like this that make me hopeful that Andy will be as influential on British tennis for the next 30 years as he is now. Not because there is any obligation but because he is interested in the game at so many levels.
The recent London Tennis tube videos particularly of the recent Sutton tournament give an opportunity to see a number of the current Division one male players in action, Andrew Watson ranked just outside the collegiate top 50 in September looking in fine form for 2017. As an aside I also noticed Jack Finder-Hawkins reached the final (ranked 81 in September) of the British tour event in Sheffield loosing to 98er Sean Hodgkin (who must rank as one of the finest players to come out of sunny scunny for sometime!)

My goodness Jack and Ben have been recruited to a top school with a top tennis programme in a fantastic city.
Apart from hoping they get stuffed once a year when they play their nemesis across the bay, good luck to both. At the very least they should be able to split the atom on their return.
Oakland, you can perhaps settle a confusion for me. Is the university known as California for its athletic programmes the same as the university known as Berkeley for its academic programmes?

Calfornia is blessed with a high quality state educational system, which for those who are from the state offers a high quality education at comparitively reasonable cost.
There are state universities in a number of the major cities which are part of the California university system but distinct entities the best known being in Los Angeles (university of California Los Angeles better known as UCLA ) and University of California, Berkeley which slightly pompously has knicked the Cal bit of California and is known as Cal. There are many others UC Davis at Sacremento, UC Santa Cruz "go banana slugs go", UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbra etc...,
The PAC 12 is the big west coast sports conference and the one in which the two biggest sports power houses of the University of California compete i.e. Cal and UCLA. Arguably the best and deepest tennis conference in the US, UCLA (often have players drop out to go pro.... Denis Novikov, the scot... well he must be... MacKenzie McDonald being the most recent), Cal, Stanford and USC (Steve Johnson, Daniel Nguyen) are all on the challenger circuit or in Johnsons case main tour.
Berkeley is arguably the best university town in the US, and the string of autumn challengers pops into Tiburon which is just round the corner and stunning. So the boys given the level from which they start are a good fit and will have every opportunity to be tested and reach their potential what ever that may be both academically and on a tennis front. They are an old tennis programme and have restocked with a lot of freshman for 2017.
