congratulations to them both some fantastic opportunities await them at both schools. Rice is a fantastic school, academic and tough to get into from that perspective, pretty certain they maintain that academic rigour for student athletes.
Unless it has been upgraded recently the tennis centre is OK but not a patch on Stanford, TCU, Texas Tech etc... Arizona State takes sport very seriously but in comparison to Rice is a bit of a party school (in the top 10!)
It's the annual Masters event for University players from around the world. GB beat France to make the SFs, but lost 3-4 to Russia, who will play the US in the final. GB will play Germany for 3rd/4th place honours. The GB team is Alicia Barnett, Emma Hurst, Olivia Nicholls, Jonny Binding, Scott Duncan, and Mark Whitehouse. Tried to put a link to the tweet from the Tennis Foundation @TennisFndation but can't get it to work properly. It's a lovely photo of a delighted medal winning team.

I like the format. Two singles matches for both men and women, one doubles for each sex and a mixed doubles. Potentially 7 matches in all. The US won the final by a knock out but they did have Chris Eubanks in the team.
