Made a decent start to the MTB but lost 7 of the last 8 points from 5-3* to lose 5-7 6-0 10-6
Having been so strong on the deuce points on Monday, it was a shame they lost 4 in a row in the second set. If they'd taken a couple of them they might have been able to get a real grip on the match.
Would be nice to see this pair keep together through this swing if at all possible. Em has a lot of points to defend through to the end of October with two WTA quarter finals and a 50k final, so a bit of stability on her side of the net might not do any harm. We'll see, I guess.

Being several times up a mini-break counted for naught.
QF: Emily WEBLEY-SMITH/Chin-Wei CHAN (GBR/TPE) 302 lost to Akiko OMAE/Peangtarn PILPUECH (JPN/THA) 303 7-5 0-6 [6-10]
Spare a thought for poor Misa Eguchi.
Serving for the title at 5-7 6-4 5-2 *30-30, she had a fall, seemed to blow her knee out, and required a medical time out. She won the point after to get to match point, couldn't move, two points later at *40-ADV, she fell again, had to retire, taken off court on a stretcher!
