Boys & Girls: US Open 2016, hard - Grade A (Week 36)

We have 3 main draw acceptances (Ryan Storrie, Emily Appleton and Katie Swan) whilst Ewan Moore is in qualifying. Alastair Gray, the fifth member of our quintet is currently second alternate for the main draw, and I don't think any of the players left in Canada will be eligible for a Special Exempt, so there is a good chance he will get bumped into the main draw.

The qualifying draw comes out later this evening, with live scores usually available via the US Open website.

QR1: Ewan Moore(GBR) v (q11) Constant de la Bassetiere (FRA)

Ewan is JWR 101 (CH 44), Constant JWR 78 (=CH)

In adults, Ewan is WR 1909, Constant WR 1398.

Constant made the L16 in the French Nationals last month.

When I last saw Ewan was a set and 4-2 down, but he came back to win 3-6 7-5 6-4. Another British winner!

Ryan has drawn a US wildcard in R1

Ali Gray has Raisma, the 11th seed from Estonia

Katie Swan has Dolehide, a US wildcard who is now 465 in adult but seems to have stopped juniors

And Emily App plays Miyamoto, age 15, JWR 25

Katie's first serve is being lethal when it goes in (91% win). It's only going in about a third of the time though, and her second serve is being eaten up by Dolehide (36% win).
She's also 0-3 on BP, with the American fractionally better at 1/7
