Pavic was basically forced to choose between singles and doubles because his success in the latter made it difficult to play both. Last year he tried to mix playing singles in futures some weeks, some ATP main tours where he played doubles and some challengers where he played both. Unsurprisingly this didn't work out that well and his singles ranking dropped from around 400 to around 600 while his doubles ranked remained at around 60. This year he decided to commit to doubles.
This week last year he played singles in a futures at Nottingham, losing to Evo in the SF after barely beating Marcus Walters in R1.
