Deary me, 2-6 5-7. Quite a slump for our Hev at the moment

Poor. Got into it and had two set points at 5-4 40-15*

Lost a long service game at 5-5.

Will be interesting to hear what the problem was. She looked ok in first game then fell away badly. Wouldn't be surprised if there was an element between the ears.

Poor outing, again, in a slam. She's due some testing draws and hs really wasted so many opportunities this year. Should have won the second.

Feel for her, doesn't look in a happy place on court.

Heather looked drained as she walked off the court Eurosport said she had a back problem and had breathing problems I hope she gets better soon. Annabel Croft said Heather lacks confidence only won 3 matches in last 3 months. Have to hope she gets better physically and can find a new coach with first goal to get her back in top 50

Hard to know how much a combination of Back Injury/Breathing Difficulties/Stress/Heat/Lack of Confidence impacted Heather in that match.

In the first set she wasn't suffering any obvious physical difficulty but was making lots of errors, often on quite easy shots. She also looked very down on confidence.

Second set Heather was definitely struggling at the start but from 3-1 she suddenly loosened up and was hitting with much more power. Hogenkamp also got a lot more tentative and Heather had 2 set point chances. Then, serving at 5-5, Heather very quickly looked to be in a lot more bother from her back, bending down after most points and serving slowly. It made for a long and bizarre game where Heather was struggling physically and Hogenkamp was struggling mentally and it felt like it was never going to end.

Once she gets over the injury, Heather does need some match wins over the rest of the season to get some confidence back as it is clearly lacking right now. She at least has comfortably enough points that her top 100 position is safe for the year
