She was describing what happened to the doctor ...... 'like an asthma attack, couldn't breath and heart racing (or something)........... ' couldn't get all the words...
In a world where the usta are being sued by Bouchard I'm amazed the doctor has let her continue.
I'm also surprised, given how badly she was struggling and also how long she needed treatment for, that the match was allowed to continue. Jo looking much better now and actually favourite to win, but you just hope her health issues don't resurface.
I've stopped watching at 2-0 final set for now. Again Jo is a grafter and I like to see these people succeed the ones that deserve it more. And for me that's the likes of Jo and Naomi than Laura. I do think those in privileged positions never realise their potential in Sport because they don't know how hard it really is. Bouchard is another example. Spoilt child etc.
I also think because tennis is such a middle class sport in this country it's firstly limits the pool of players we have, but also with that comes the fact of the struggle to get there. The structure in other countries is so different. I can actually see it getting worse speaking to a few people at a tennis club in Glasgow last week. Judy Murray does her thing in Drumchapel regularly (under privileged working class area of Glasgow) which is fair enough but mostly just PR. The irony is two of the main tennis clubs in Glasgow are within 2 miles of where Judy does her thing but the pompous clubs don't accommodate.
Anyway enough of the politics. Is it safe to watch Jo again? I'm recording it anyway.
Extremely determined effort from Jo to win that match. Helped out by a pathetic final set from Pironkova but not many players would have been able to carry on and win like Jo did. Now she can get some proper treatment and rest up.
