The only down side of all our success (and it's NOT a complaint) is that I'm knackered. I only used to try and stay awake every couple of days for Andy and then he was sometimes earlier in the evening. It really does feel like the Olympics.

This.
Mrs Topemp most unamused by my being up till gone 2am every night. Also, it's not easy to go to sleep with all the adrenaline coursing thru your veins after the finish.

Well done to our final three standing.
I am still recovering from Kyle's win the night before last so missed Evo's match. Being in Spain makes it an hour later as well, which doesn't help. Kyle's match is due to start around 3am my time and I like my beauty sleep. Might have to hit the sack around 9pm and set the alarm.
His post match interview on the usopen.org site is heartbreaking to watch. I can't link it from my phone , sorry.
The interview really was classic Dan. No meaningless platitudes about being happy with his performance or grandiose statements about how he will work ever harder, totally rejecting the soft ball question he got on the latter. Just a brutally honest of assessment of how he felt and why he lost the match.
I am sure that in a few days time he will be fine, he has always been pretty good at taking tough defeats on the chin and this time he has the added boost that he his next run of tournaments won't be some poorly attended challengers playing against journeymen but he will be back among the best on the main tour.
Oh wow soooooo very close. It's all been said already - but I hope Dan will be very proud of what he's achieved this week once he's over the disappointment. Dan is such a great player to watch - I just love his game.
Very straightforward interview. Dan was so down, understandably. Really feel for him.

Wow...! Didn't realise Dan had a match point. Reading the BBC piece, Wawrinka said he was lucky and Dan has great talent.
Indeed. Wawrinka hit a big serve and didn't really give him a chance on the point.
He should have had another too, having got well on top of the point at 7-7 but was unable to finish off successive volleys before Wawrinka eventually prevailed. That was the crucial turning point really.
Unfortunately Kyle was let down badly by the forum last night/this morning, a distinct lack of fitness and resilience failing to take the majority of us into the second week. Very poor. Indie definitely needs to work on his mobility, Bob has Stamina issue, CD I think was in hiding in the face of such excellent use of LTA funds. Personally Dan's exploits on the back of Friday was a bridge too far, finding it tough to step up to 5 sets consistently.
All that said Kyle has had a break through tournament time to bring on the Argies!!
