As expected, Andy is the second seed.

So Liam flew up to Flushing Meadow to sign in as an ALT.....

Wasn't he a fair way out? Is he paying for that ? Or is he there as part of the Evo and Hilts' 'team', as hitting partner or whatever?

That could have certainly come out better. Since Evo seems to have come out best he can pass on a few words about Gasquet to Kyle.

Well, at least the women have decent draws, so that's something. Don't like any of the men's, including AM's.

And Kyle can pass on a few words about Ram.  Interesting how they each played the other's opponent last week.

Tough draw for Kyle really, but Gasquet is beatable, as has been proved by John Millman who beat him in straight sets yesterday.

If the draw goes with seeding, there are going to be some mighty matches come the second week

Djokovic (1) v Cilic (7)
Nadal (4) v Raonic (5)

Wawrinka (3) v Thiem (8) (or del Potro !!)
Nishikori (6) v Murray (2)

Apparently Nole has issues, personal and injury. I have no details though. If he's not 100%, then our lad has a great chance.

I think it might have been better for Kyle if Gasquet had gone all the way to the Winston Salem final.

I like these match ups, Kyle has really progressed, last year he really only warranted a place in qualifying, this year he merits a place in the main draw and Gasquet is the type of top 20 player Kyle can make in roads into and possibly beat and open up the draw a bit for him.

Congrats to the Harrison brothers, Ryan and Christian, for both making it through qualis.

And Mischa Zverev joins his brother in the MD too.

Don't remember seeing two sets of brothers in the men's singles MD before ..... but someone will no doubt set me right

And Christian, it should be added, it WR 688, and has never been higher than WR 351.

Tons of injury problems. And now's he through to the MD of his home Grand Slam. It's a bit of a Marcus story all over again

Tough draws. With a 1 in 4 chance of drawing a seed, 2 out of 3 drawing seeds is really tough.

Will be great run out for Kyle but Gasquet is a supreme talent, and is getting stronger it would seem.

Evo can't complain, though there was criticism of Ram getting a WC so he will be right up for this and he's tough to break but would hope Evo could come thru that.

Rosol dangerous but expect it will be useful run out for Andy.
