Kyle *3-4 in the 3rd but Escobedo not going away. This match is not over yet.
It is now........have you stopped punching the air yet????
Have you got some cheeky CCTV in my house
Thought Escobedo showed that he has some real talent, but while Kyle's ball striking wasn't quite as devastating as against Gasquet, I though he controlled the match in a thoroughly professional manner. There are also marked signs of improvements in many of the other parts of his game too - more variety on the serve, better movement in defense and a couple of DC winning lobs that Andy would have been proud of.
Wonderful, and it takes him to a CH or 64 on LR Go Kyle!
Good chance of holding that too. Mathieu is the only player within "one win" range of Kyle. he plays Mahut in R2. Anybody else would have to make the last 16 to catch Kyle now with the nearest "live" challengers being Chardy, Dzumhur and Young.
I see Djokovic has been given a walkover by Jiri Vesely who has an arm injury. A real shame as I fancied Vesely to push him close given current circumstances and Vesely's win over him earlier in the year.
The only possible plus for me (as reported by David C on the doubles thread) is that if Vesely has to pull out of the doubles as well, Colin Fleming is 1st Alt.
