Now Tomic has beaten Nishikori 7-6(1) 7-6(5) and will play the winner of Murray vs Anderson in the QF.

So far through to the QF we have the unseeded quartet of Tomic, Coric, Johnson and Dimitrov to join (8) Thiem who had a w/o vs Monfils.

Can (1) Murray, (4) Raonic and (6) Berdych restore rather more sense to proceedings ?

Interesting to note that Sugita, who beat Kyle in FQR, has gone on to reach the 3rd round, having beaten both Alex Zverev and Nicolas Mahut. He will play Raonic in the L16.

And has now taken a set off Raonic.  They are into a decider now.

I must confess to an uneasy feeling about today's match. Andy must be running on empty at the moment and if Anderson has a good serving day, this could be down to 2/3 tie-breaks

Andy 30-0 up on serve first game and match suspended due to rain.

Serving for the match at *5-2. If you can win 50% of return points against the howitzer of Anderson, you're setting yourself up nicely really...

That was far more convincing than we could have hoped for. Tomic in the QF followed potentially by Raonic/Thiem in the SF's

600 match wins - 100 wins from the last 114 matches. Not bad. Tomic looks to have played well yesterday.
