I would have thought with Kyle's big weapons on the serve and forehand the quicker courts would, if not suit him, at the very least not be too disadvantageous. Hope there's no serious issues with regards to the trainer being needed.

His forehand is big but he needs a bit if time to crank it up hence it is better on slower courts. Also quicker courts make it harder to defend his backhand wing as well as making it easier for opponents to exploit his poor movement.
Kyle at the mo is the skid solo of clay tennis, it will be interesting to see how he goes in the desert next year, unfortunately he got Novak on top form this, but Indian Wells is one U.S. ATP hard court tournament I think he will enjoy year on year, the antithesis of Andy who I feel only plays it as a warm up for Miami.

I'm not so sure: he's never beaten Andy in seven attempts going all the way back to the San José final in 2007 (only his second title, if memory serves )! Andy beat him in straight sets in the L32 of the French Open this year & in four at Wimbledon last year. You have to go all the way back to the Tokyo outdoor tournament in 2012 for a win on a hard court (straight sets). He's also getting a bit long in the tooth (37)! Anyway, it's looking more likely to be Mónaco, who has an overnight lead of 6-4 5-3* & whom Andy beat by 3 & 2 in the L32 in Rio last week. The head-to-head there is 4-2 in Andy's favour. He hasn't beaten Andy since Valencia (L16) in 2010 & he's no spring chicken, either (32)!

Please don't remind me of that. I had tickets for the QF, SF and Final that year.
