Well at least got 2 out of 3 qualified through the debatable joys of qualifying, especially in a 25K with very little points benefit ( 1 additional point and only if you win a main draw match ).

Anyway 5 in R1.

2-6 Oudin has been very very bad, but given all her troubles, I can't find it in me to be too upset about it.

With the best will in the world, they were getting absolutely destroyed. Wong could do no wrong. Tara was so hangdog after every point you just wanted to put her out of her misery.
Then, at 2-6 2-5, Tara played a game of four quite brilliant points to win it single handed.
Usual service was resumed thereafter though, and they whimpered away 2-6 4-6
Ken very entertaining on commentary.

At least Tara can concentrate fully now on another strong singles week.

Emily gets the short straw and plays tops seed Mertens (although she whipped her in India a couple of years ago I think a repeat is a little unlikely!)

Katie has a half chance against Wolfe (ex Gajdosova) who is coming back from injury.
