Singles and doubles it's now 24 games in a row won by Laura. She won the last 10 games of her doubles SF yesterday, 12 in the singles final, and now 2 here!

The commentator is very certain about all of his opinions...

Laura and Freya win the first set, but the Belgians were definitely getting back into it at the end of the set. According to the commentary, Jo Konta is joining in some of the points too, so with 3 on 2 the Brits should win.

Agreed, the Belgians were coming back, but they are each top 100 doubles players, so you'd expect something.
A measure of how well the Brits have been doing that even the Belgian comeback only netted them a 3-6 set.

F: Laura ROBSON/Freya CHRISTIE (GBR) 663 d. Elise MERTENS/An Sophie MESTACH (BEL) [1] 161 6-3 6-4

Bopped two top 100 players with relative ease.
Laura - queen of Landisville - 's first ever professional doubles title!
Freya's sixth, and second at $25K, both this year.

Fab week :D

Not a lot happening off clay ITF-wise for a few weeks, so hopefully Laura will pop back home and then come back to the US for the run of 50/75/25ks starting with Atlanta on the 12th September. That seems like a good next step.

Best thing was in the couple of games it got tough she dug in, didn't panic and held firm. Really well done.

Fantastic week for Laura. Pity I couldn't watch the stream live, but I'm going to catch a few games now.

Wow what a week for Laura. I think she's been inspired by the Olympics and having a good couple of wins has sent her sky high.

Hopefully this is the way now.

Let no-one suggest Laura's too unfit to keep running down balls. And no excuse for you now Miss Robson

Her attitude throughout has been great in that keeping going for almost everything and the sense and consistency in her shot play.

Almost a bit surreal, but great to see

What a boost this week should be going forward
