Tara wins a tight first set maybe helped by a couple of calls from 5-5 deuce that Laura was very unhappy about. Not a great match from either to be fair.
Better play from both in this set and still on serve 3-2*. Laura not taking her break point chances again though which might well be the difference in an even contest.
The standard of play in that last game was great from both and Laura hangs on for 4-3* which is the least she deserves from this set so far.
Tara initially called for the trainer for a neck problem that didn't look too serious, and then they played on for 10-15 minutes in a very long game. Once she started getting treatment she was overcome by heat exhaustion.

Good response from the officials, very quick to act, and they all got involved immediately to fetch ice and so forth. Paramedics called. All the best Tara.
Tara taken to hospital on a gurney.
She was sitting up of her own accord though, and able to move her arms, which is good sign. Best wishes Tara, every best wish possible.
Gratitude and congratulations again to the Landisville organisers and emergency services, who did an excellent job in responding to a difficult situation.
Sending good wishes to Tara. This happened to my son at the GNR a few years ago. The medics at the on-site facility wouldn't let us see him for over 2 hours. Can't remember the name but a female GB world class athlete also collapsed a few yards from the finish and I'm sure she would have been properly prepared as was my son. This is a reminder that we should perhaps give a little more consideration to the conditions when judging how well or badly our players are doing.
Puts frustrations over missed shots and poor line calls into stark perspective - the only thing that matters is Tara's health. The commentator was mentioning repeatedly how hot and humid it is there. As has been mentioned, the tournament organisers did a great job getting treatment to Tara really quickly.
It came as quite a shock after what was initially very scrappy had turned into a fantastic match between two British players.
