Week 32 - Challenger ($100,000) - Nordic Naturals Challenger, Aptos, CA (hard)

Only saw about 20 mins of that - but it was a very nice 20 mins

Well done, Cam.

And Dan takes the first set, too, 6-3

Did someone say Dan Evans struggles to serve out? Gets the break at 5-3; butchers an overhead to go 15-30 down but then very cool including second serve ace on set point. 6-3 first set and now one set from all GB final.

Wow a great tournament for Cam. Just hope Dan can see it through.

Big chance now, a double fault on break point in first game of 2nd set gives Dan an early break 6-3 *1-0

Dan and dusted. Evo wins comfortably over his favourite opponent 3&3

Yet again we have an all GB final at a Challenger event. Wow.

Evo played very well today and the result never looked in any doubt. Good to see him back to winning ways after squandering matches in recent weeks. Tomorrow really should be the last time we see him play a challenger match for quite a while.

Being uncharacteristically generous I am starting to feel a little sorry for Fratangelo as he must really hate seeing Evo anywhere near him in a draw. 5 matches in the space of a year, 4 straight sets defeats and the one time he won a set he lost the decider to love.

Amazing yet another all-Brit challenger final!

When's the last time we had 10 men in top 300?

Cam with a relatively very resticted schedule now showing as #24 in the live under 21 rankings.

It is exciting to think where he can potentially get to in the game.

Anyway, not yet another all GB challenger final

So many players continue to make 2016 a great year.

Yes. I highlighted Cam's achievements this week (and counting) on the US college thread too, just for completeness.

But what I wonder is: is he 'the best GB prospect every to go down the US college route'?

Or is he the best example of a reasonable prospect who chose to go down the US college route and then BECAME one of our best prospects?

I saw him play a British futures when he was 17 and apart from Evo he was the best propsect I've seen out of the British players in a futures (and I've seen basically everyone apart from Kyle).

Shame the final is late. Won't be till 10:30 at the earliest. More likely 11:00/30 start.
To watch or not is the question.

Whatever happens though a great week for Cameron. I wonder if this will change his mind about going back to school?
Also at least Dan turning down the olympics for whatever reasons hasn't been a waste of time.

Oh wow - not been following the tennis this week outside of Rio. Excellent from Cameron, and yet another all-British final!
