There's a delightful article in today's Times which reports that Andy moved out of the athletes' village, as planned, because he thought that it would improve his prospects of defending his title - & lived out for all of 12 hours because he missed the atmosphere (banter) so much! The BOA apparently spent six weeks upgrading the basic accommodation by having a giant TV screen, Union Jack deckchairs & table tennis tables installed.
Look like he broke his coloured doorstop thingy (what on earth is that thing anyway?) at the ceremony and tried to stuff it into his pocket to hide it.

God alone knows. Been wondering that myself. Thought I heard one of the BBC commentators at the weekend suggesting that it might be a medal-holder, but that they didn't fit!
I don't know if Andy Murray is planning another walkabout in Dunblane, but if he is, the BBC commentators might like to consider the example of the football-style running commentary from JMDP's return to Tandil: twitter.com/lucysophiaj/status/765662798789697540. It's a bit of a hoot, at least the few minutes that I watched. ("And he's coming ... he's going right now into the white room in the municipal building ... in a few minutes he's coming ... Juan Martin ... in a few minutes, in a few moments, just a few autographs, a few little pictures ... patience, please, patience ... just a minute, no more ... come on, come on, come on ...he's ten metres away, ten metres" ) I expected the announcer to yell "GOOOOAL" at any moment. And the fact that one can imagine the contrast with "Andy's walking down the road now. There are literally thousands of people here to see him. The emotion is quite overwhelming" said in hushed and perfectly neutral tones makes it even funnier. Jesting aside, it's really touching to see.
I've been away for 10 days, but managed to see quite a lot of the action.
Stayed up for the final.
Just WOW! Huge congrats to Andy! Very proud - what a man!
