So, they lost to the eventual gold medallists.   Could've been worse.

Yes, some did point out at the time that it looked rather good opposition that Jamie & Jo lost to.

One of the poorest sets of tennis I have seen Murray play in quite some time but he still takes it 7-5.

Whatever, he's not losing from here

He looks tired (although not as tired as DelPo). Win or lose - or should I say - when he wins, I would not be surprised to see him withdraw from Cincinatti.

4th set follows the second - Murray immediately broken with a shocking error on break point.

Very much anyone's game.

With the way Juan is breathing after points I struggle to see him doing this in 5. I think Andy has enough in the locker to see it out

And of course Andy gets broken straight after I post that. I'll see myself out...

It's OK really, you said you struggled to see Del Potro winning in five and he won't.

I certainly hope not. Though I could do with Andy wrapping it up in 4 - I need my bed!

Andy - eventually - makes it five golds for Team GB on sensational Sunday by defending his Olympic singles title:

Final:  (2) Andy Murray WR 2 defeated (PR) Juan Martín del Potro (ARG) WR 141 by 7-5 4-6 6-2 7-5 in just over four hours!

Am I right in thinking this is the first time anybody has defended an Olympic Gold? In singles at least?
Poor Del Potro looks completely done. What an effort from him, he deserves the plaudits too. Astonishing match really, so much drama and tension.
