Hev just let up for a moment in that third set, and Svitolina took advantage 3-6 6-1 3-6

Nice try Hev. Played better than yesterday.

Needs to find some good form over the next few weeks back on the tour.

A shame for Heather that she won't get a chance to play Serena again but a good win yesterday and she didn't have a realistic prospect of a medal. Jo on the other hand has a outside shot though her opponents from here on will be really tough.

I missed the start of the third. Did Hev have a play on the two break points?

I'm not clear enough on the entry rules for mixed doubles, but if Heather can convince Andy to play with her (and the mixed title at Wimbledon should help) then that would always represent her best chance of a medal. Or would Andy need to play with Jo as Heather is not ranked high enough?

Heather's ranking is too low for her to make the cut. Only way she'll get in is if Jo decides not to play and her and Andy get one of the 4 ITF places (unlikely).

Suspect Jo will team up with Jamie.

She went to her bag to get a gut saver before the first which took about 30 seconds, then had a 20% chance BH DTL. On the second, she left a ball that looked like it was going out, but dipped onto the line, she could easily have played it, on into the rally.
