Definitely stupid thing to say and may well betray his real feelings, but I suspected when I watched it back that he hadn't meant it like it was said he did. More like making a joke assuming it would be awkward for two male mates - his main crime being assuming that no gay men would be out in public together in Brazil.
What I actually found weird was his extreme excitement at the kiss cam in the first place (!) he kept cheering all the couples on.
Anyway, it was only actually Ken who said he was sent home. All the rest of the coverage said the BBC had apologised for his remark.
Millions would feel the same? Millions of bigots perhaps
Folk can't help what they are comfortable watching ( unless we are going to reprogram the brain and honest feelings ) while absolutely respecting LGBT rights including publicly showing affection if they want.
But I realise the politically correct response by many is to call all such folk bigots.

It is bigoted. If you are happy with heterosexual people showing signs of love and affection but not homosexual people then you are being discriminatory. The political correctness argument to excuse prejudice does not wash with me!
Not sure how well Jo & Jamie even know each other, or how much practice they've had together. They're not doing badly at all, and can definitely turn their match around.
Hev & Andy have their Hopman cup experiences, and look good. Carla'sa very good doubles player, but how often does David play? Love of country and the Olympics does that to you!
I've never seen Jo play doubles, she looks a bit unsure to me. Andy and Heather look smooth. I can see Heather specialising in doubles in a couple of years.

Yes on listening back I don't think he was even thinking about gays or bis but just the 'kiss cam' focussing on two random guys sitting together and then feeling obliged to kiss. There may well have been a bit of he would find it awkward too ( indeed that was my initial interpretation ) and I don't see that as so terrible.
But yes as I said before it was unthinking and wrong to say it, but I still say blown out of proportion and far too much extrapolation by some of him and apparently any other person uncomfortable with two blokes kissing, gays or not.
