Who is commentating by the way?! 'Konta has only won 3 out of 7 points behind her second serve, so exactly a third' ...WTF? BBC commentators have been awful during this event
I thought I saw a caption at the start of the match saying Paul Hands - or did I imagine it as it flashed past ?

This is the guy who I thought had had his contract terminated for his homophobic comments the other day; former GB doubles player, Paul Hand.
1-6
20 UE. Jo was a bit like this the other day in the first set against Kuznetsova (not quite as bad), so hoping she can flick that magic switch again to come alive.

I don't like the guy as a commentator and the aplogy was quite right. But to me it would be way OTT to terminate his contract for in the moment uttering a thought that let's face it millions would think the same, but he should not have uttered on a public broadcast.
Nothing going right here. I don't mind her losing, at all.
I would really love her to play well on this occasion when so many who haven't been following all her success are tuning in perhaps for the first or second time, and so far today, they'd take away a very false impression of what Johanna has been about this year. I wan as large an audience as possible to see how good she can be, even if she loses.
At the moment though, she's completely lost touch with the baseline and her serve, and it's all a bit of a whimper
1-6 *1-4
It ends on a bad error. One of Jo's worst performances of the year. 1-6 2-6
But, she's still, by a distance, our most successful Female Tennis Olympian in single since the reintroduction in Seoul, 1988.
And a fantastic comeback win against Kuznetsova.
Well done Jo. You did the country proud
I'd withdraw from Cincy if I were her, she's played an awful lot of tennis.
Disappointing from Jo today, but probably had nothing left after the Kuznetsova match, and if there is one player you don't want to have an off day against it's Kerber, because it will lead to a very one-sided score.
With one medal hope gone though, it looks like another has appeared in the form of Andy & Heather - mixed doubles with elite players is my favourite thing about Olympic tennis so great to see Andy & Heather involved, playing a team you would never see outside of the Olympics.
Millions would feel the same? Millions of bigots perhaps
Folk can't help what they are comfortable watching ( unless we are going to reprogram the brain and honest feelings ) while absolutely respecting LGBT rights including publicly showing affection if they want.
But I realise the politically correct response by many is to call all such folk bigots.
