Poor Maria wasn't on court very long in that singles final:

Final
Noa KRZNARIC (CRO) 6-1 6-0 Maria BUDIN (GBR) [1]

Worth noting that young Noa (girl's name?) is only 13, born 2003, and this is her first ever ITF tournament, and has won the title without dropping a set.

Noa Krznaric - we'll be watching....

Doubles to come

Noa is a contemporary is Holly Fischer. Them two, along with American Gabriella Price, are the ones to watch from the 2003 bunch, IMO.

Thanks, tharris. I've never heard of Noa so I will note her down.

Glad to hear that you think so highly of Holly Fischer too. A very exciting prospect.....

YouTube has some of their matches from Les Petits As from January. Holly already has easy power, can already serve as bug 110 mph. Noa is a tall, lanky girl with a big lefty forehand. Gabriella reminds me very much of a younger Cibulkova. She's a tiny girl, even for her age, but can go toe-to-toe from the baseline with girls much bigger than her. Obviously I'm just getting this from one or two matches of each, but that's the impression I was left with.

I agree there are one or two standouts re 2003 and 2002 but what is exciting is that there also appears to be some depth from a British perspective.

Noa also impressed in the under 14 European Championships. It was won eventually by ITF top 200 and TE1 Helene Pellicano, who swatted aside Emma R in the quarters, but her stiffest challenge was provided by Noa in the semis - 6-4 in the third.
