James draws a Brit in R1 for the 2nd week in a row and the winners of that match are likely to get Lloyd's conqueror in Lexington, Tiafoe.
L32: Brydan Klein WR 271 v (8) Grégoire Barrère FRA WR 193 (CH 187 earlier this month) L32: James Ward WR 249 v Liam Broady WR 277
Qualifiers placed & would you Adam & bloody Eve it?
L32: (Q) Ed Corrie WR 362 vs (4) Frances Tiafoe (USA) WR 149 (= CH) .
In actual fact Lloyd lost to Lexington winner Escobedo not his vanquished final opponent Tiafoe It does still mean three Brits facing very tough task to get thru to Quarters though.

I know. I even commented on the fact that Escobedo had gone on to take the title on the Lexington thread, beating Tiafoe in the final. The comment you've quoted was meant to be a reflection on the fact that Tiafoe keeps getting in the way of our boys' progress.
Our boys may wel look back in 10 years time when Tiafoe is at his peak! And reflect very positively that they were able to run him close on the challenger tour when he was 18.
A certain Mr A Murray won his first challenger age 19 ranked 145 in 2005, he is now quite good but a geriatric compared to Tiafoe who won't turn 19 until Jan 2017.

To be 'fair to Tiafoe, he's only played one Brit in the last 4-5 months.
And only 2 Brits since the start of the year.
(And not sure RJA would even count them as British - Klein last week and Bedene back in March)
I don't quite know why you think Tiafoe has been a British problem.
It appears Liam is not very happy with the schedulers this week. And I don't blame him. Here is his tweet.
Checked the schedule at 5pm and I'm on 5th match after 10am. Look again at 11pm and I'm first on at 10am... What
Good job he double checked before going to bed. I wonder if he told Wardy about the change or is he just hoping that Wardy will still be in bed and not turn up

I was completely conflicted about that match. On the one hand I'm really hoping Liam can get his Mojo back and make his way back into the top 200. On the other hand I feel James is in desperate need of something to break for him sooner rather than later or it will be curtains. He was WR113 a year ago today and it can't be easy to fall so far so (relatively) fast. Anyway I hope they both succeed in the above. Sounds like James deserved to win, and hopefully Liam isn't too discouraged by a tight loss.
