Ha, I wondered when Em withdrew from the Canada 50K whether she had a venture like this in mind. She does sometimes suddenly pop up like this ( been missed before so well caught Peter too!)

Maybe more doubles linked, but hey she's seeded q10 here in a two round qualifying draw. The other seed in her qualifying bracket is (q3) Nadia Podoroska (ARG) WR 239. So with her showing better singles form and 12 points for winning QR1 ( and 18 for qualifying ) then an opportunity ...

Haha well she's ballsy our Em.

Journey here is a nightmare and very expensive. I suspect she'll be on a red eye to Sao Paulo tonight so hopefully she can get some sleep as she'll probably be heading pretty much straight onto court once her internal connection lands. Around lunchtime tomorrow.

Nao is playing here so presumably teaming up. Fingers crossed for more success than on the grass.

Emily is 3rd on after a 2pm (UK time) start, so it should be around 5pm.

The two first matches on her court will be total blowouts. Hope they let her have a NB time, otherwise things will be tight. Could have done with being on a different courr where the matches should be much longer.

But Emily's match is noted as not before 3pm (7pm UK time), so she has a little bit of time

They've re-scheduled Em to NB 3pm local time, same court.
