Week 30 - ITF($50,000) - Kentucky Bank Tennis Ch., Lexington, KY (USA) - Hard

Harriets second set was very quick. First was a huge battle.

Conditions are brutal. Been a few retirements already and wouldn't be surprised if some girls will struggle with the heat and humidity.

EWS clearly wants to spend as little time in the heat as possible - getting the job done very quickly indeed. 6-0 6-0, 31 mins, 50 points to 8.

With this latest match the ITF site shows Emily Ottsen's senior singles activity as 17 matches, 8 in the last year.

14 6-0 6-0 defeats and 3 6-1 6-0 defeats. 6 first set points today and 2 second set points again indicates that she's relatively better in first sets  evileye  And actually I see that half her points ( 3/6 first set and 1/2 second set were Em DFs )

Yes, probably a decent break for Em !

Freya through, 5 & 2

Katy left, and her match always looked the toughest GB assignment. Collins has set so many all time NCAA Div 1 records (including most match wins in a season), and won the singles title twice, all from an unfashionable school (Virginia). The textbook ringer.
Katy making a spirited go of it though, with a break in set 2, 4-6 *4-3

I'd have put Olivia Rog as the toughest, a confirmed class player, despite Danielle's excellent domestic tennis record.

However, they're doing well so far - and with the gods smiling on Emily

C'mon, Katy - let's force a third....

This seems to be EWS's lucky day, after a substitute in Q1 she now has a potentially winnable match in Q2. The ranked player she was likely to meet retired when 3-0 up, so Emily meets another unranked player in R2.
