I fancy Em's chances if there was another rematch tomorrow, getting closer day by day, but overall Em seems to have found some decent form, which augurs well for her doubles.

Shame after such a big effort, missed break points at the start of the third then served three doubles in the next game to be broken. So she could have got revenge today but not to be.

No doubt thats her best singles effort in months and as Phil says hopefully the better singles level will translate to doubles where its really needed.

Match lasted for 2 hours and 52 mins. Both must be shattered and relieved that there will not be another rematch soon. smile

3hrs in 30 degree heat. Brutal. Great effort from both.

Really interested to see how Katy v Laura pans out

Minnen won easily, Bai won so both the Brits left were beaten by players in form. Bookies have Laura as solid favourite, but I think that's wrong, Laura must be feeling it physically so I'm going for the upset.

Emily unlucky today but an encouraging week.

Rare that a tennis player will have a match the next day after a tough loss. Even rarer for both players to be in that situation. Makes it interesting for Katy v Laura. Very tough one to call too - Laura will be tired after two very long matches and a doubles match too, but Katy won't be that fresh either.

I agree that Katy is a good bet at odds of 3/2.

Mike C said that a player told him that, today, physical fitness counts more than any other day in the whole year.

Katy D would probably win the physical fitness battle.

So, given that.....???
