I did see a bit of Greet Minnen at Shrewsbury where Louise Holtum absolutely blasted her off court for half a set only to get nervy and lose a second set tie breaker. Freya went on to beat her fairly comfortably in the semi final. From what I remember she has quite useful, which was to be expected from a top 30 ranked junior.

Yes, first time since Guangzhou 2013 that Laura has won two or more matches in singles.

Have to say I never expected we'd go 0/4 today.

Sore one for Katy. Had her chances in the third but couldn't finish. The double at 5-3 in the breaker a bad one.

Laura getting no better week to week or month to month. These are the same results she was putting in in ITFs a year ago.

Which two get lucky? We'll find out soon enough.

Laura will definitely not make US Open qualies now (unless she is a LL and by a miracle goes deep). She'll probably end up with a wild card but i really dont think it's merited.

If the LL slots go in order of who deserves them it would be Freya and Katy of deserve is the right word but somewhat ironic if Em an Laura get them. We ll see.
