Not an ideal tournament to say the least in that the two highest ranked Brits in the event battle each other in a long match then the winner loses easily the next day. Tara had a great grass season but she still needs to prove that she can transfer that to hard courts.

A recent Tara tweet may explain today's disappointment and withdrawal from the doubles, as it suggests she's heading straight to Montreal, which may mean she's playing qualies for the tournament starting there next week.

 If that's the reason for Tara's poor singles result in round 2 it makes it annoying that she beat Laura In R1.

I read that Nicole Vaidisova has decided to retire again. So I just wanted to give my support to Laura because it must have been so very difficult for her these past few years and with so few wins quite demoralising at times but she hasn't given up yet. Good for her.
