It might just be that Argentina are playing mind games here and that Del Potro will definitely be play. Whether it is Evo or Kyle who gets the nod they need to prepare for the possibility of facing Delbonis rather than knowing that they will play Del Potro.
That's one possibility Indeed my original thinking. I've since become a bit confuddled.
At least if Delbonis plays rubber 4, we then know for sure that they plan to play Del Potro in rubber 5 since Pella can't play rubber 5. Err unless they plan to play Mayer
Well Argentina have certainly kept us all guessing throughout this tie and I wouldn't be surprised to see Pella again in the 4th but I think Delpo will turn in for the 5th rubber.
Could be an interesting deciding rubber if Del Potro is not fully fit. If he is at full strength you have to feel we would have pretty much no chance, given how he played in the opener.
Croatia two sets up now. For them it's either Gb away or Argentina away, but with cilic and a cilic and dodig doubles pair plus Coric, they'll be a handful that's for sure.
Struggling to follow all this while on holiday, and only have access to BBC text commentary (can't get any live feeds to work, even with ip hider running).
It's interesting that so many see DelPo's doubles outing as a terrible mistake due to him not playing today. Isn't it more likely that he knew that he wouldn't be ready for a full singles match, and so it was worth exhausting any chances of him playing for the higher chance of taking the doubles and thus the tie?

A couple of us did say yesterday that this was the only reason why Del Potro playing doubles could possibly make sense.
