Following the success in Serbia, it gives me great pleasure to start this new thread so we can all start speculating on a venue.
Personally, I think there will be a lot of diplomatic talk about taking the show around the country to appease fans froms various regions and looking at different venues etc, and then they will choose Glasgow like the last time. Hasn't Andy got some kind of event going on there a couple of days later ?
This one is a no brainer. It is going to be Glasgow. And if it is, there wil be no complaints from me.

Would it be completely out of the question to play this on grass or will mid-September be too late?
I think the cricket season is going on to the end of Sept this year but for them, if it rains so be it. The match is drawn. I think it would be a big risk for he tennis.
Grass probably Kyle's weakest surface, although probably the weakest for most Argentinians - with the exception of Del Potro.
With Kyle typically favouring surfaces similar to Argentians it will be interesting to see what happens. I think the standard slow indoor hard court will be put down again (seems we have the same slow hard court surface for all our home ties)
Indoor hard or carpet does look to be their weakest surface but you can provide this in most cities with 5 to 10 thousand seats. Agree though that Glasgow is fast becoming Indoor Central..
As regards grass in September, didn't we play the French last year at Queens? But why risk it.... Semi final after all and its fairly clear Andy and co can smell that Dcup trophy from the way they celebrated and the remarks made. The draw has been kind this year with France, US, Australia on the other side where we would have had to travel so we must capitalise, you never know with injuries if we'll be given a better chance to make another final.

I expect the tie to be in indoor hard, but not slow indoor hard. There have been good reasons for this set up in previous home ties. The France tie on grass at Queens was a QF in July with September much more problematic.
Hard rather than clearly not clay brings Evo into the equation even if Andy plays, assuming he has not burnt bridges in Serbia when there appears to have been more issues than his injury position. The relative form of Kyle vs Dan on hard courts in the coming couple of months could therefore be pretty important re who ends up playing singles.

Any takers for Newcastle. Quite a nice part of the world, very friendly public, and been starved of big tennis events, since the 10k was taken away a couple of years ago.
