RE: Week 29 - Challenger ($50,000+H) - L,G & T Tennis Challenger, Binghamton, NY (hard)

Lloyd's glorious run in Binghamton finally comes to an end:

QF:  (9) Andrey Golubev (KAZ) WR 211 defeated (ALT) Lloyd Glasspool WR 307 by 6-4 2-6 6-4  hmm

Still, good while it lasted!

Chaplin & Mitchell finally met their match.  Trouble is...

SF:  Quentin Halys & Stefan Kozlov (FRA/USA) CR 738 (334+404) vs (Liam Broady & Guilherme Clezar (BRA) CR 641 (388+253)

& Brydan's not going to be there to offer a few insights into how to deal with Halys... cry  Halys & Kozlov dumped out the top seeds, O'Brien & Roelofse, in their first round match...

the commentator is confirming that Kozlov has pulled out of the doubles (after retiring in his singles), due to a heat related problem.

Hence, Liam is into the final !!! smile

it's been a really gutsy performance from both players, in what is obviously horribly hot conditions for tennis.

But, net net, Brydan lost the first set in a TB

And won the second set in a TB (after the Indian player served for the match).

So into a hot and tiring third.....

And the second of the Brits in the singles dips out:

QF:  Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND) WR 214 defeated Brydan Klein WR 260 by 7-6(5) 6-7(3) 6=2

A win here over JPS would be a nice consolation with a side helping of vengeance for that agonizing singles loss in the first round.

Unfortunately, I seem to have jumped the gun a bit:  Matt Reid & JPS have yet to play their SF against Sekou Bangoura & David O'Hare (4).  That will happen tomorrow.

Lost 6-4 6-2. Still, a nice consolation of $1550 for Liam after a really gutting loss in the singles.

Not at all - especially since JP Smith, from what I've seen of his play, is way underranked in doubles. On to the next!
