Week 29 - Challenger ($50,000+H) - L,G & T Tennis Challenger, Binghamton, NY (hard)

QR1:  BYE vs (q6) Cam Norrie WR 422 (= CH)

Liam & Brydan should be in the main draw, while Lloyd is second on the Alternates' list.

If Lloyd was second in the alternates list and isn't in the qualifying draw presumably he has made the main draw.

I believe there is effectively just one challenger list - i.e. not separate main draw and qualifying lists ?

Pass!  I've absolutely no idea how these things work.

Was wondering why Go Sodea was a SE. And learnt a new rule! 7.10.A.1)e) To be precise! Doesn't get used that often I guess.

For obvious reasons throughly enjoyed last years Binghampton challenger, which has a history of Young British winners going on to great things.

Very positive that there are potentially 4 Brits in the field three of which are still youthful and very much in the establishing themselves as challenger players. Lloyd is slowly prizing the door open to regular challenger play and it would be particularly nice to see Liam kick on and Cam continue his fine run of form.

Not a nice doubles draw: Krueger and Nguyen won in Winnipeg, didn't they? For the singles, Halys is a terrible draw; JP Smith I've only seen play doubles, where he is superb; Noah Rubin has been out with an injury, I think, so may be rusty.

Match level at one set all. Cam took the first set 6-3 but lost the second 0-6. Best of luck in the final set

Cam lost out 6-2 in the third. Still such a positive few weeks for him. Could be very dangerous when he starts playing full time!
