Superb from Jo. Dominant on serve and bar a few backhand errors in set 1, hardly put a foot wrong.
Courts were very quick, which I suggest would suit Jo's power game.

Superb, Slam-winning standard of tennis from Jo.

She dropped only 6 points on service all match - against one of the best returners in the world. And I thought Cibulkova played very well, was not having an off-day, and was just soundly beaten by a better player.

It is just about mathematically impossible to lose a tennis match if you lose only 6 service points.

Takes her into the biggest final for a UK woman since...?

I only saw the end of the 2nd set, and Cibulkova looked a beaten player by then, the serve for Jo really standing out, and also the primal scream at the end, which really showed how pumped she was. I wonder whether only making R2 at Wimby ( eventhough it took an inspired performance by Genie to beat her ) has inspired her this week. I think a repeat performance tonight will definitely be good enough to beat Venus.
