Jo earned and deserved every part of that.
Played so well for most of that match, faced her demons, and overcame.
Bursting with pride for her achievement.
Took out the top two seeds, both in good form, both in the top ten on Monday, and dominated those matches.
"Let's hear it for your champion, Johanna Konta."
Ah, that sounds so sweet
Fantastic brilliant performance. Top 10 beckons. Azarenka makes room
for another after Pennetta and Sharapova fall. Jo is
Probably on top 5 form on hard no reason why top 5 can't be target for year end.
Yep phenomenal week for Jo, not the strongest field, but still going along very nicely. She was a best player in the tournament by far, but these wobbles that she experienced during the 2nd set I believe will become less frequent, as she gets more comfortable at the top of the ladies game, certainly top 10 is entirely possible now.

Yes the field wasn't the strongest but actually looking at the WTA tour as a whole, now that Sharapova is probably finished and Azarenka will be out for at least a year you've got to worry whenever the Williams sisters do retire where the Tour will be. I can see the top 10 being fairly mediocre by the standards of say 5-10 years ago. Carla Suarez Navarro, Cibulkova, Vinci none of them strike me as World Class.
I agree on current form she is defo a top 10 player, and with the likes of Vika, not going to stay there, there is a huge opportunity to make much more progress.
Bet365 cruelly cut off as soon as the win is registered. Was there a nice exchange between them at the net ?
Yes, that's the most annoying thing about bet365 live streaming, but there's video of the presentation speeches at https://twitter.com/WTA/status/757361010864902148 (Jo) & https://twitter.com/WTA/status/757360082233417728 (Venus) and plenty more on the tournament and WTA twitter accounts.
What an amazing week - I remember thinking she'd done fantastically well to take advantage of her AO draw opening up and wondering if she could grow into the new ranking she got from that but she's done far better than just consolidate those gains and she played some incredible, irresistible tennis in the semi-final and final.
She's also so good at recovering from setbacks these days that I was never really in any doubt during the match that she was going to win, even when Venus nicked the 2nd set. The days when she'd crumble after a setback like that are long gone.
Now she's no longer always the first since Jo Durie to achieve various milestone wins (good as that was in itself), we're starting to have to say first since Wade and Barker instead. I imagine this has already been covered further back on the thread than I've read in detail, but she's the first Brit to win Stanford since Sue Barker beat Virginia Wade in an all-GB final in 1977 (39 years ago) and the fact that she's back in the Singapore qualifying places (if you assume Vika is already out) more than halfway through the year is an amazing achievement, especially for someone who had to qualify for last year's US Open.
