Very favourable development for Naomi, as Risa Ozaki easily knocked Sloane out

Naomi's doubles QF is about to begin. It might provide some salient info for the singles to come, as her opponent there is also among the opponents today,but no coverage to see.

Yeah....
It's not going, what's the word... oh, yes... well!

Ozaki is serving 1st serve at 84%, and winning 100% of those points!
Naomi has won one point on the three Japanese service games, and that was a double fault.

After just fifteen minutes, Naomi is serving to stay in the first set!

Given Naomi can't return very well most matches and isnt the best at long rallies not that surprised she's struggling hopelessly against an excellent athlete and defender.

But even so this returning performance is particularly diabolical. Ozaki doesn't have a big serve by any means

Hopefully she can work her way into the second set

Absolutely amazing!
Through her first nine service games, Ozaki had lost a total of 5 points on serve.
She then lost four in a row in her tenth service game, and with it, the set!

Well, Naomi made it a lot closer than it looked like being, and maybe Ozaki - having beaten Sloane - was playing rather well, but this still has to be a very disappointing loss
