You can't really read too much into a match like that because Becker was simply pathetic. All you can say is that Dan did a good professional job which is all that can be asked of him in such circumstances.
Given the problems with Evo's shoulder I was expecting a much tougher encounter, but once he got the early break, Becker made it easy, having said that there were some brilliant shots from the guy from Brum.

I think it is probably safe to say that there was never much of a problem with Evo's shoulder.
R1: Dan Evans WR 82 beat Benjamin Becker (GER) WR 96 (CH 35 10/14) 6-2 6-1
R2 (L32) : Dan Evans WR 82 vs (12) Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) WR 40 (CH 8 08/14) H2H : 0-1 Dimitrov won in 3 sets in Eastbourne back in 2011
Dan beat Dimi twice in juniors (a long time ago, obviously), including a fairly comprehensive (2 & 3) win in their only previous hard court meeting at the junior US Open in 2007, when he went on to reach the QFs. He also thrashed him 0 & 1 on Czech carpet the same year. They've both had more ups and downs than most since then, of course.

No problem :)
A year ago I watched Dan playing the futures in Nottingham. I told my friend he'd better come because he wouldn't be seeing him at futures again. And now here he is on centre court in a 500 event playing a guy who dated Sharapova. Fantastic.
