I misread your score. i thought it was 11366 and i was so happy to get over 21,000. I was looking forward to seeing my name on the highest score table, but no, nowhere close. 113660 for chrissakes. you are a machine montana.

I thought it'd be fun to have our own world championships for the arcade game "space invaders."

I'm looking for 64 participants, please sign up in this thread stating the country you wish to represent [GB will be split up into the home nations eg: Scotland, England, Wales, NI + Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey]. You don't have to live in that country to represent them for space invaders.

The format is going to be 8 round robin groups of 8 players, the top 2 in each group will progress forward to the knockout stages - rd2. From then onwards it will be a straight knockout, winning semi-finalists will playoff for gold and losing semi-finalists will playoff for bronze.

Players will compete against each other, on MTF you challenge the opponent you are drawn to face, to a game of space invaders. This is done by clicking on your opponent's username on MTF, clicking on "user profile" and under contact info, click on the link, "challenge that person to an arcade game." You challenge each other twice. Both players then play the game against the computer and at the end they are told their score and their opponent's score. After the 2nd challenge you add your two scores up and the player with the greatest score wins, eg: say I played Montana Doug and I scored 100 and 200 and Doug scored 5 and 10, then I would win.

I will also try and get participants from the BBC boards and MTF because [a] it will enable us to get 64 competitors and it will mean it isn't a forgone conclusion that Doug will win !!!

Still ready and waiting....when does this start?  Try as I do I can't get beat one of my old scores and get back on that list....lol
