I just hope his Wimbledon Renaissance has given him the confidence to progress at Challenger level. His unique repertoire of shots allied to his finely hewen physique make him a joy to watch and support, a joyful Evo that can earn a bit more of a career than just burning brightly briefly this summer.
I would hedge my bets Marcus will tuen up in Aptos....
Given he has been in Knoxville training all week, I think it is a given.
I'm guessing he's got a WC then as he's not on the entry list on MTF.
Point to Prove tweeted this yesterday:-
Best of luck to #PTP Professional & @Wimbledon star @Willbomb90 over the next few weeks on the US @ATPChallenger!
So I reckon he'll have a few wild cards, although his ranking may well get him in some weeks
Marcus tweeted from Kalamazoo, Michigan yesterday, so still a long way from Aptos or Gatineau, though not far from Champaign, where there's a Futures event next week. Turns out he's playing a college exhibition event on Saturday evening (see http://wwmt.com/sports/content/unlikely-wimbledon-sensation-to-play-in-kalamazoo ), which means he won't be playing qualifying at any of those events I've just mentioned but he may have got a wild card for one of them.
After Aptos next week, there appear to be no Challengers in North America until just after the US Open, unless the ATP Challengers calendar has missed some!
