Suzy won as her opponent retired after going 0-1 down in the second as well..
So Suzy will join the WTA rankings in 2 weeks time!!!

So Suzy played a few tournies in 2007, as a 15 year-old, all in Portugal, losing in the first round of qualis, practically every time.

And a few junior ones in the same year.

And then absolutely nothing (on the international scene) until 9 years later, when she re-appears and - bang - a few tournies later, she's got three counter and a ranking !

Yay, well done Suzy.

3 Brits are due to leave the rankings post Wimbledon - Naomi Cavaday ( long moved on, but will only now leave the rankings ), Jovana Knezevic ( though is down for a couple of Serbian 10Ks next month ) and Aimee Gibson

So after that net drop of 2, Suzy will be one of our 32 ranked players.
