Sweet, sweet win for the Skupskis. Congratulations especially to Neal Skupski - am I correct in thinking this is his first GS win? Really thrilled.
And well done, too, to Brydan Klein and Alex Ward, who lost 6-4, 7-5. That's a very respectable scoreline against seeds, and it always felt (at least on live score) like a real match. Super stuff. Would love to see Alex Ward play doubles alongside his singles more often. Congratulations too to Lleyton Hewitt and Jordan Thompson, who win the Isnut award for longest match of the day: 19-17 in the third. Might as well have had them play five sets and be done with it.
EdWard playing a great match so far. Way better than a few of our doubles players who had soft losses today. I wonder how EdWards (doubles) haters will respond if they actually win?

Not on the men's side surely. Wins for Jamie, Dom, Jonny M, Ken/Neal so far. The only regular doubles playing Brit that has lost so far is Colin who pushed Jamie/Bruno to 3 sets. So all in all, it has been a terrific performance from our doubles guys.
I was referring to the wild card debate. There was ALOT of disaprovement over the EdWard inclusion. My point was that they have put up a better showing than some of the other wild cards . Agreed though, some amazing results today. Well done guys / gals
Now one set each

Would still love to see Kyle/Wardy win though.
As you say, Bob.
And I don't see why we need to get into "haters" for presumbly people who question these very occasional doubles players Edmund & Ward receiving MD WCs. It's surely at the very least a legitimate discussion point.
As one such questionner I'll tell you in advance how I will react if they wiin - very pleased, but not thinking it removes the validity of such questions.
